Something a little different is coming to Libby's Patch this summer, and if you have little ones who go wide-eyed at the sight of a tractor, this is the day for them. On 1st August, we're throwing open the farm gates for our very first Big Machines Day – a brilliant hands-on event giving families the chance to get up close with some seriously impressive kit.

From mighty tractors to rumbling diggers and more, the farm will be home to a fantastic line-up of big, working machines that the children (and let's be honest, plenty of adults too) will absolutely love. It's a wonderful opportunity to explore the kind of equipment that keeps farms and worksites ticking, all in the safe, welcoming setting of our family-run Cheshire farm.

What to expect

The event runs from 10am until 4pm, giving you plenty of time to soak it all in at your own pace. Wander around the machines, take photos, ask questions, and enjoy a proper farm day out in the fresh air. It's the sort of experience that sticks in a child's memory long after the day is done.

Tickets are priced at £15 per person, and we'd encourage you to book ahead to avoid disappointment – days like this tend to prove very popular with families across Macclesfield, Cheshire and the wider North West.

Plan your visit

Libby's Patch is located in Gawsworth, near Macclesfield, and is easy to reach from South Manchester and across the region. Wear comfortable clothes and sturdy shoes, and come ready for a fantastic day outdoors on a real working farm.

We can't wait to welcome you. Daniel, Bethan, and the whole team at Libby's Patch are looking forward to making it a day to remember.

How do I get tickets?

Tickets are £15 per person. We recommend booking in advance to secure your place – keep an eye on our website and social media channels for booking details.

Is the event suitable for all ages?

Absolutely. Big Machines Day is designed to delight visitors of all ages, though it's particularly popular with younger children who love anything with wheels and an engine.

What should we wear?

We recommend comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear. The event takes place outdoors on a working farm, so dress for the conditions on the day.
